By designing Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials for the campaign, my goal is to create visually compelling and emotionally resonant content that captures the essence of the initiative and encourages conversations about mental health.

Through the #BUWA campaign, we seek to empower individuals to express their feelings, disclose their mental health conditions, and reach out for support. The Song that Inspired Change: The #BUWA campaign was inspired by a powerful song, “BUWA,” by Mojelo Mojelo, a multi-talented recording artist, producer, activist, and Ha Boi’s Operations Officer. Written in Setswana, one of South Africa’s eleven languages, the song delves into the topic of depression and the barriers people face in discussing their mental and emotional challenges openly. This song sparked profound discussions, leading to the birth of the #BUWA Depression Awareness Campaign.

Innovative Messaging for Impact: Our team is committed to using innovative messaging tools to extend the reach of the #BUWA campaign. By leveraging various mediums such as IEC materials, social media, media partnerships, and collaborations with NGOs, government bodies, and private sectors, we strive to amplify the campaign’s message and inspire positive change.
